Welcome Week - Chemistry Timetable

23^rd September

10:00 - 12:00 - Year 0 & 1 Welcome Talk - 344, Grove Building

Key Academic Staff from your Department will provide you with an overview of what to expect throughout Year 0 or 1 Chemistry.

12:00 - 13:00 - Lunch - 344, Grove Building

Join your peers for a social to welcome all new Chemistry students. As part of this session, we will be providing lunch to include a variety of options for those with dietary requirements including Vegetarian, Vegan and Halal. If you have an allergy (e.g. nuts, gluten), please let us know by no later than 12pm on the 18th September by completing this short Microsoft Form.

13:00 - 14:00 - Meet the Chemistry Society - 344, Grove Building

An introduction to the Chemistry Society and the activities you can take part in this year.

14:00 - 16:00 - Scavenger Hunt - 344, Grove Building

A Scavenger Hunt, starting at 344 Grove Building. A chance to work with other students and staff on your programme.

24^th September

13:00 - 14:00 - An Essential Guide to Your Studies - Grove Lecture Theatre, Grove Building

Come and meet your Faculty Student Experience and Information Team who are here to support you throughout your studies. This session is an opportunity to explore the support available to you as a student and any questions you may have about studying at the University. 

25^th September 2024

11:30 - 13:30 - Diversifying Voices - Wallace Landings, Wallace Building

Join the Faculty EDI team for pizza and activities as you receive an introduction to the diverse community you are joining within Science and Engineering.

13:00 - 16:00 - All Faculties Welcome Fayre - Create (Ground Floor Space), Taliesin

Find out more about ways to get involved, access support when you need it and make sure you have everything you need in place for your first week of teaching. There’ll also be chance to take part in competitions and get some freebies.

This day has been kept free to provide you an opportunity to attend the Student Union Fresher’s Fayre. Please note, this Fayre is taking place at the Swansea Bay Sports Park on Sketty Lane, not at the Bay Campus.

An opportunity to meet your Academic Mentor and Mentee Group.

16:00 - 18:00 - All Undergraduate Student Social - with the Chemistry Society - B, Fulton House

Meet up with all Chemistry students for a quiz, with a chance to meet higher level students.
